Spring and Summer might be the most popular seasons to tie the knot, but more and more are now choosing the winter months. If you're attending a winter wedding, then wearing a hat not only allows you to add more creativity to your outfit, but also helps you keep snug and warm.
Please don't roll up to a Winter Wedding wearing your favourite beanie though! Trendy as they may be every other day of Winter, your bride and groom will be expecting you to wear something a little more formal. Flatter the bride and groom, showing them you’ve been creative with your efforts for their big day, and wear a velvet, felt or sequin hat or headpiece specifically designed for Fall / Winter formal events.
Dressing for a winter wedding when flowery hats and fascinators won't work. Try Pheasant Feather fascinators, wear wool felt hats, or fur felt hats, hats in velvet.
Wear jewel colours that will add a colour pop. Try Mustard Yellow, Teal, Sapphire, or Regal Purples. Burgundy or Emerald are popular for a Christmas wedding.... and lots and lots beret hats, perchers and cocktail hats with sequin styles.
In terms of the best shape winter hat for your face shape then the same rules apply as for Summer. For tips on finding the right hat shapes for your face then refer to my blog post on that here. You will probably also find the post on body shape useful. Again same rules apply for winter as for summer.
